3 Technology Trends We Can’t Afford to Ignore

In such an innovative world there will always be the “next big thing” in technology. New innovations are always being introduced to the market and greatly affecting not only the way businesses are run, but also the products produced by those businesses, and the customers who buy the products.

Part of making a business successful is to recognize which trends will stick long-term. Below we explain three tech trends that we have recognized as having the biggest impact on our business, and have become a central focus in our daily endeavours:

Mobile

Each year more and more people are surfing the internet on their mobile phones, and less on desktop computers. People are always on the go, and we must recognize the ways that we need to adapt our businesses to be mobile friendly. This means ensuring that your website and products are available for desktop, tablet and mobile phone. Formatting these pages so that they visually pleasing and functional across all internet gateways is a must, because customers want user friendly technology where they can instantly access the information they require. If we fail to transition to the mobile market effectively, we could lose out to a competitor that did.

Customer Social Interaction

Along with the development of the mobile phone industry, social media has also grown exponentially - people are more connected and interactive than ever before. Customers are interested in providing feedback about their experiences not only with the business directly, but with other potential customers as well. Social media allows for us to track what is being said about our business and to interact with those who are interested in our brand. Studying customer behaviour and taking their feedback is very important because they are the people who are using and paying for your services.

Without happy customers you lack a profitable business, and one of the biggest limitations on success is when companies fail to listen to what their customers want. Through social media outlets we can listen and interact with our customers, promote our business and use their feedback to fuel innovation and new ideas.

Analytics

Through analytics we are able to learn exactly where our online traffic is densely populated. We learn which sections of our website have the most interaction, for example which blog post was read the most, and how long people spent looking at each page. From this information we can pull data which encourages us to grow. We can learn under what conditions people are most likely to interact with our content, and then we can do our best to imitate those conditions to yield the best possible results.
