Constellation Software named one of “World’s Most Trustworthy Companies” by Newsweek and Statista

Newsweek has named Constellation Software, parent company of Volaris Group, one of the World’s Most Trustworthy Companies in its 2024 ranking.

“Trust is an essential part of any relationship—from personal relationships to ties between businesses and consumers. In fact, 95 percent of business executives said they felt that organizations have a responsibility to build trust, according to a 2024 PWC survey,” writes Global Editor-in-Chief Nancy Cooper.

Constellation ranked among the top five companies in the software and telecommunications category, with Newsweek noting that “this list recognizes companies that have earned the confidence of consumers, investors, and employees by producing quality products, paying employees fair wages and appointing effective leaders."

Newsweek presented the award in collaboration with Statista, a world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. Statista’s research spanned 23 different industries in 20 countries and took into account all public companies that were headquartered in one of the report’s target countries that had a revenue over US$500-million.

The ranking is based on an independent survey of more than 70,000 participants and 230,000 evaluations from customers, investors, and employees. They responded to prompts related to customer trust (for example: “I trust this company to treat me fairly as a customer”), investor trust (“I trust that this company is competently led”), and employee trust (“I believe this company offers good opportunities for career development”).

The ranking also incorporated a "social listening” component which analyzed more than 995,000 company mentions across social platforms. Companies were scrutinized and vetted for any recent scandals or litigations that would be of significance to taint their trust image.

Constellation President & Founder included in Maclean’s “Power 100” List

Constellation Software President and Founder Mark Leonard was mentioned in Maclean’s, a Canadian magazine that covers politics, culture, trends, ideas, and personalities. Leonard was included in the 2024 “Power 100” List under the tech group.

Editor-in-Chief Sarah Fulford says: “A result of months of debate and research, the list was handpicked by our team of editors, who watch the country closely, keep track of the people dominating the headlines, and think deeply about what matters to Canada now."

The piece draws attention to Constellation’s track record of acquiring companies that it encourages to operate independently, “rather than merging companies or selling them for parts.” It also acknowledges Constellation’s successful capital allocation strategy, earning Leonard the nickname “Canada’s Warren Buffett.”
